Elena Ibarrola, founding partner of MIA. She advises domestic and international clients on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, and strategic alliances involving both public and private entities. Elena also represents issuers and financial institutions in domestic and cross-border debt and equity offerings, as well as in the negotiation and structuring of commercial loans and other complex financings. She has significant experience in financial, legal, and regulatory matters related to the insurance industry.
Elena regularly counsels issuers and boards of directors on disclosure and corporate governance obligations under Mexican law. Her practice also encompasses advising on corporate incorporations, shareholder disputes, and day-to-day compliance and governance matters.
Prior to founding MIA, Elena practiced at the Mexico City offices of Holland & Knight and DLA Piper, both leading international law firms.
